Message from the Principal

Jefferson School Logo
Jefferson School
Jefferson has built and maintained a strong reputation for academic excellence. Maintaining a caring school environment is a priority. All staff work together to provide a consistent program that focuses on the core elements of instruction, while providing for opportunities to enrich and expand the learning opportunities presented to our students. The teachers here at Jefferson will begin their second year working with the Teacher Development Group in the math-studio concept.  The teachers will continue working with the best practices in mathematics to help every student to become successful in meeting the common CORE standards in mathematics at every grade level.

Jefferson School was built in 1955 and has been expanded twice to accommodate a growing population, and was completely renovated in 2007 as a part of the Medford School District construction bond. Jefferson has provided generations of families in Southwest Oregon with years of exceptional education experiences.

Jefferson Elementary has a successful school wide discipline model in place through PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports). The staff works hard to provide a positive environment for all students with behavior expectations in all areas of the school. The Jefferson Elementary Jets guidelines to success are;

· Be Safe
· Be Respectful
· Be Responsible

The Jefferson Elementary School community benefits from the strong support of their Parent Teacher Organization, many volunteers, Foster Grandparents, and the SMART reading program.
We look forward to the opportunity to continue to provide an exceptional learning environment for our students.

Journey to Excellence Through Success

Our mission is to provide opportunities for our students to develop strong academic skills, the ability to work well with others, and the confidence to achieve their potential. We do this in a safe, caring, enriched environment, in partnership with parents and community.
