Rogue Ambassador Informational meeting
Friday April 17th @ 1:30pm in the Main Office Conference room.

Students selected as RCC Rogue Ambassadors have an outstanding academic record in high school, agree to perform service hours in the community, and enroll in mandatory courses. The Rogue Ambassadors' Scholarship begins in Fall each year and pays one half of recipients' tuition (up to nine credits) in the first year following their high school graduation. If eligibility requirements are met, full tuition up to eighteen credits per term is paid in the second year.
Rogue Ambassadors is a merit scholarship opportunity. To apply for the Rogue Ambassador merit scholarship, you must:
- Have a fall term cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or better and be on track to earn a regular high school diploma from an eligible high school.
- Take an RCC placement test and have minimum course placements of RD115, WR115, and MTH65

What: Beyond The Numbers: The Cost of Higher Education
Become aware of and understand the financial options available when preparing for college or university. This session is designed to not only ensure that you are pursuing the proper funding, but to also assist you with translating the summary of your eligible funds in the "Financial Aid Award Letter." We will discuss: how to access the letter, how to read the information contained in the letter, what each fund sources "means," what to do when you have questions or your situation changes.

AP Fair & College Night, March 9th, 2015
SMHS Commons and Theater
5:30-6:20pm AP Fair: Come talk to AP teachers and learn more about what AP classes offer and how to receive college credit.
6:30-6:50pm College Night: After the AP Fair, stay and listen to a college information session given by the OPU (Oregon Public Universities) Representatives.
6:55-8:05pm: Stay and attend 3 different sessions to hear specific information from PSU, OSU, U of O, SOU, WOU, EOU, OIT, and RCC. This is a great time to meet with admission counselors from these colleges and get information on admissions, financial aid, programs/majors and more!
College Fair PNACAC, TBA
The PNACAC College Fair offers local students exposure to numerous colleges in the Pacific Northwest. Admissions officers and other staff will provide attendees with information specific to each school represented. Sign-up in the Main Office or PFC to ride a bus to SOU. La Feria Universitaria PNACAC ofrece a los estudiantes locales la exposición de numerosos colegios del Noroeste de Pacifico. National PSAT Test Day, Wednesday, TBA
- Most juniors should take this test to help prepare for college and qualify for scholarships. You will receive personalized feedback on areas of strength and areas for improvement. Register at SMHS Activities window between October 8 & October 14 - $15
- All sophomores will be automatically registered. Fees are paid by the Oregon Dept. of Education in order to give all sophomores a practice run for this very important 11th grade test. You will receive the same feedback reports as juniors to prepare for the “real” test next year.

Attendees will learn much needed information about admissions, financial aid, and scholarship to better inform students (and parents) as they make that all-important transition to higher education. Free pizza and soda will be provided to those who register on-site from 5:45 to 6:30. At the end of the evening there will be a drawing for four $500.00 scholarships. Scholarship recipients can use this scholarship toward future expenses at any college or university of their choosing. Spanish presentation is available at the RCC Table Rock Campus in White City.
